Based on the ancient Hindu philosophy of the Pancha Mahabhutas. i.e. prithvi (earth), agni (fire), jal (water), vayu (air) and akasha (ether) the lines represent these five elements. According to Hindu philosophy, everything in the world is composed of these elements. Thus, the amalgamation of these five elements constitute the universe, i.e. the triangle. At the same time, the triangle also represents the source of these elements – the omnipresent one.
