Based on the wheel / chakra of traditional Nepalese chariot (rath), this design is steeped in Nepalese culture and tradition. The four wooden chakras that drive the rath forward represent the fierce Bhairav gods, i.e. the protectors of the chief divinity that resides in the chariot. The piece signifies the importance of security and balance that is restored when one receives it. The circle represents the wheel, and the lines represent the eyes of the Bhairavs, forever vigilant. The motif used is abstracted given a contemporary twist.
